Hallaton at war

The award-winning museum has been in action for more than 20 years, housed in a small building at the centre of the village. It is supported by an active group of friends and celebrates the history and heritage of Hallaton. Previously the exhibition in the museum was changed every year, and the results of the research for these exhibitions are included in this section of the site. In 2004 it was awarded a major lottery grant, and set up a more long-lived exhibition giving the story of the hare pie scrambling and bottle kicking for which Hallaton is famous. Only part of this exhibition can be shown here. Come and visit us between 1430 and 1700 every Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday between Easter and the end of October. We are happy to arrange special openings at other times for groups (telephone 01858 555305).
