Walking and cycling around Hallaton Hallaton lies at the heart of excellent country for walking and cycling. Walking: The Leicestershire Round, circling Leicestershire, and the Macmillan Way from Lincolnshire to Dorset run through the village, while the Midshires Way runs only a couple of miles away. A web of footpaths radiates from the village and links across to give a wide range of long and short walks, some of which are shown on the parish walks leaflet. The popularity of these walks is enhanced by the two excellent pubs in the village. Cycling: Immediately around Hallaton there are a number of very good hort rides, though care has to be taken of traffic. Hallaton is a very convenient stopping place for those on longer rides. |
